Coaster Studies

These coaster sets explore how small, functional objects can still hold space for experimentation and play. Each set is composed of four handmade tiles, curated either through deliberate pattern-making or through a more intuitive grouping based on colour, shape, surface, and feel.

Rather than fixing the tiles into a permanent arrangement, the sets are designed to remain free-floating and moving. This allows them to be rotated, re-ordered, and re-configured, forming new patterns and relationships over time. A single set can shift subtly with use, inviting interaction rather than preservation.

Made to be used and lived with, the coasters sit at the intersection of function and experimentation. These works were showcased and sold at the Institute of Modern Art Makers Market.
